• SYNOPSIS: A mainstay of the London art scene since his breakout in the 1960's, Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen) has drifted into a self-imposed seclusion. His two estranged children enlist Lori (Michaela Coel), a forger, to pose as an assistant and access a series of unfinished canvases Julian has buried in his studio in a deceptive bid to secure an inheritance for themselves.

• Conversation with Ed Solomon and Charlie Kaufman (1:59) - Not much of a conversation, with screenwriter Ed Solomon discussing the origin of the project, merging ideas with director Steven Soderbergh, and not much else. This is clearly a clip from a much longer conversation, which isn't available here.

• NOTES: A fine character piece, but not the heist film the synopsis might suggest, like Soderbergh's previously Oceans films (reviewed here).

• SYNOPSIS: A flight from Los Angeles to Shanghaig goes down in the middle of the Pacific. After surviving the crash, the survivors soon discover they're not alone and they must survive the shark-infested waters.

• SPECIAL FEATURES: There are no special features.

• RATING: R for violent content/bloody images and some language.

• NOTES: It's a shark movie starring Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kingsley, from Renny Harlin, the director of Deep Blue Sea (1999) (and many other action and horror films). It hits of the beats you'd expect from a film in this subgenre and offers a good time.

• SYNOPSIS: Racine (Kara Young) and Anaia (Mallori Johnson), twin sisters with disfiguring burn scars, have their world upended when the mother they'd believed long dead summons them to her bedside and reveals that their father is responsible for her bedridden state as well as the twins' scars. When she orders the girls to kill their father for what he has done, the sisters must decide whether to seek vengeance or find mercy.

• RATING: R for strong/bloody violence and language.

• NOTES: Great performances by Kara and Mallori in this family drama. The Blu-ray comes with a slipcover, but not much else.

• SYNOPSIS: A profound and deeply personal documentary that pulls back the curtain on one of pop culture's most defiant and beloved masterpieces. Directed by Linus O'Brien, the film explores the intricate life and creative mind of his father, Rocky Horror creator Richard O'Brien and his enduring work. Far beyond the cult-classic midnight screenings and iconic costumes, the documentary delves into the deeply human heart of a story that has served as a beacon of radical acceptance and self-expression for over fifty years. Through a unique familial perspective, exclusive insights, and a dedication to the truth of its creator's vision. Strange Journey strips away the spectacle to reveal the authentic narrative of an experimental stage show that accidentally changed the world. • NOTES: Tied to the 50th anniversary of the Rocky Horror Picture Show film, Strange Journey benefits from being made by Linus O'Brien, son of The Rocky Horror Show creator Richard O'Brien. That means access to archives and, presumably, easier facilitation of conversations with an astonishing assortment of people, several of whom are still with us, despite getting quite up there in age. Richard O'Brien is 82; director Jim Sharman is 79; star Tim Curry is 78; Lou Adler, who brought the stage show from London to Los Angeles and then produced the movie, is 91. All are present in the documentary, as are musical director Richard Hartley, costumer Sue Blane, and stars including Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn, and even Peter Hinwood, who played Rocky and hasn't acted since the 1970s. That gives Strange Journey the opportunity to document the phenomenon at a level that most documentaries about it can not.

I assume that Linus has hours of stories and recollections, and that's what makes the lack of special features all that more painful. An entire disc with full-length interviews with all of the interviewees could have been included. Anyway, even with that caveat, this Blu-ray is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. A great companion to the 1975 theatrical film, which if you don't already own, is available on 4K UHD Steelbook, Blu-ray (45th Anniv.), Blu-ray Digibook, and DVD (25th Anniv.).

• SYNOPSIS: Special Agents Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) are at the front and center of the action. Once presumed dead in a mortar attack, Ziva is very much alive, and living in Paris, where she and Tony, her fellow former agent, and on-again, off-again lover, are co-parenting their young daughter, Tali (Isla Gie). When Tony's security company is attacked, the family must go on the run across Europe, attempt to piece together who's after them, and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally achieve a kind of happily ever after - unconventional though it may be.

• NOTES: Includes all ten episodes of the series* on three discs. (*Despite saying "Season One" on the case/discs, the show will not have a second season; making this the "complete series".) Episodes run about 42 to 50 minutes each. A content list, with a synopsis for each episode, is printed on the artwork interior. The DVD set comes with a slipcover. The DVD is recommended to fans of the parent show, but it would be an even higher recommendation had it been released on Blu-ray.

• Director's Log: The Making of They Will Kill You (7:36) - A documentary-style feature following director and the cast throughout the production process. From creative meetings with executive producers to deep dives with the VFX and prosthetics teams, this piece offers an intimate look at the creative and technical forces behind the film.
• Developing the Virgil (7:49) - A look into the film's most iconic location: The Virgil, a nine-floor art deco building inspired by Dante's Inferno. This piece showcases the building's intricate design, surreal art direction, and how each floor was constructed to reflect a different level of psychological descent.
• Asia Reaves' Attacks (7:11) - This action-packed piece breaks down all the major fight scenes in the film, complete with stunts, spoilers, and cinematic chaos.
• Crafting Carnage (5:11) - Unravel how the film's most intense moments were brought to life using hands-on techniques, from puppets and prosthetics to practical effects and choreographed gags.

• SYNOPSIS: After breaking the mysterious "One Wish Willow" to win the heart of his crush Nikki (Inde Navarrette), hopeless romantic Bear (Michael Johnston) finds himself getting exactly what he asked for, but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.

• SPECIAL FEATURES: All of the content below can be found on both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray discs.

• Audio Commentary - with director/writer/editor Curry Barker.
• Obsession Unleashed (19:13) - Go behind the scenes with filmmaker Curry Barker and cast members Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson and Megan Lawless, to see them create a wild horror story out of intense performances and shocking scares. Hear the cast reflect on their most memorable scenes, get a peek at Michael and Inde's chemistry test that sparked the film's emotional core, and see how their collaboration shaped the film's most unsettling moments.

• RATING: R for strong bloody violence, grisly images, sexual content, pervasive language, and brief graphic nudity.

• NOTES: I kept hearing great things about this film, and I really wondered why, since the plot sounds like yet another iteration of the "love potion" trope - and "The Monkey's Paw" by W.W. Jacobs (PDF) - that can be traced back to John Collier's short story "The Chaser" (PDF), originally published in The New Yorker on December 28, 1940. That story was the basis for two television adaptations, The Twilight Zone: "The Chaser" (1960) and Tales From The Crypt: "Loved to Death" (1991), both of which are about a male who uses a mystical love potion to win over a woman, triggering an obsessive infatuation that spirals out of control and forces a desperate, lethal choice with permanent consequences. In fact, the Crypt episode instantly came to mind when I heard about Obsession.

As I watched Obsession, I kept waiting for it to do something different with the premise. Sadly, it did not. What it did do well is create atmosphere and creepiness, which definitely helps to set it apart from other similar stories. The big thing that Obsession has going for it is Inde Navarrette, whom I previously best knew as Lana's daughter Sarah on Superman & Lois (2021-2024). Inde's portrayal of Nikki is phenomenal and so creepy. The way Navarrette can give off a cold stare, or contort or move her body in unnatural ways, just adds to the terror of the character. Inde is the reason you NEED to see Obsession.

I should point out that the film is presented in a weird 1.50:1 aspect ratio, which means there is blackness on the sides, not on the top and bottom. This rather unique aspect ratio puts it between the old television format of 1.33:1 (4:3) and the current television format of 1.78:1 (16:9). What a weird choice by the director. Finally, the 4K UHD comes with a slipcover and Digital Copy code voucher.

• SYNOPSIS: After his older brother's death, Giuseppe "The Guppy" Calzone (Kevin McDonald) becomes head of the Calzone mob family. Knowing that his son is not cut out for the job, The Guppy's aging father (Dom DeLuise) sends him to "Mafia University". The Rodfather (Rodney Dangerfield), the head of a rival mafia family, sees this an opportunity to strike and bring the Calzone family to its knees.

• SPECIAL FEATURES: There are no special features.

• RATING: PG-13 for violence, language, crude sex-related humor and drug content.

• NOTES: This is a Naked Gun-style movie with a cast that includes Kevin McDonald, Dom DeLuise, Rodney Dangerfield, Fabiana Udenio, Lou Ferrigno, Barbara Crampton, Irwin Keyes, Carlos Alazraqui, Don Pardo, Dom Irrera, Joey Buttafuoco, David DeLuise, and Keith Coogan. The movie, which I'm pretty sure my family owned on VHS in the late 1990s, has its moments. Not every joke lands, but enough of them do that it's an enjoyable way to spend 100 minutes. You should be aware that Leomark put in ZERO effort here. Not only is the film presented in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio - which to be fair, is how it looked on VHS - but there is NO MENU on the Blu-ray. The movie just restarts at the end.

As an FYI: The release I'm reviewing is a Manufacture On Demand Recorded Blu-ray, not a factory-pressed disc. If online artwork and the case spine says "Blu-ray Disc" in plain text, it's a BD-R recorded disc. If it has a Blu-ray logo, it's a factory-pressed disc. If you have the disc in hand, a purple bottom is a recorded disc, and a silver bottom is a pressed disc. It is said that factory-pressed discs last longer than recorded discs, aside from those made by Warner Brothers in the late 2000s. I don't know if that's true, but if it matters to you, I'm letting you know.

• SYNOPSIS: Two sets of identical twins - one pair of bumbling peasants (Gene Wilder and Donald Sutherland) and one pair of arrogant aristocrats (also Wilder and Sutherland) - are separated at birth. Decades later, on the bloody eve of the French Revolution, a case of mistaken identity tosses the wrong brothers into the wrong lives. As the guillotine looms and the palace of Versailles descends into absolute chaos, these four unlikely heroes must navigate royal trysts, deadly duels, and a plot to overthrow King Louis XVI.

• SYNOPSIS: Michael 'Tiger' McDrew (Rock Hudson) is a married football coach, and faculty advisor, who beds his female students and eventually resorts to murder to keep them quiet. Meanwhile, student Ponce de Leon Harper (John David Carson), who is suffering academically due to sexual frustration, lusts after his sexy new substitute teacher (Angie Dickinson), who soon takes care of his problem.

• SPECIAL FEATURES: All of the content below can be found on the Blu-ray disc.

• Theatrical Trailer (2:44)

• RATING: R.

• NOTES: This black comedy, written by Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, is a rather controversial film. It was back in 1971, and it would be now due to its rather disturbing premise. Rock Hudson plays the beloved football coach and guidance counselor at a sunny California high school. He's also seducing many of his teenage female students, and when they become inconvenient, he murders them. Telly Savalas plays the homicide detective circling the case. Meanwhile a nervous student named Ponce spends the movie chasing his own coming-of-age subplot. This is all served up as a light, black comedy, with the killings folded in among the sex farce. If you can tolerate that premise, then the film is worth a watch for its campiness.

• SYNOPSIS: A glamorous Vegas showgirl's (Pamela Anderson) 30-year career at Le Razzle Dazzle, the last remaining revue, comes to an abrupt end. When the show's closure in two weeks is announced, she tries to reconnect with her estranged daughter while leaning on her brassy former-showgirl best friend (Jamie Lee Curtis).

• The Last Showgirl: Unreserved (15:25) - A decent EPK with behind the scenes footage and interviews.
• A Conversation with Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis (30:23) - A really fun conversation with the pair.

• NOTES: I'll keep this short and sweet: The Last Showgirl is the female version of The Wrestler (2008) featuring an incredible performance by Pamela Anderson. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The Blu-ray comes with a Digital Copy code voucher.

• SYNOPSIS: Dick Dastardly and his snickering canine co-pilot Muttley plot to "stop that pigeon" aboard their World War I flying machines in this popular Hanna-Barbera spin-off of Wacky Races featuring the vocal talents of Paul Winchell and Don Messick. When muttering Muttley decides he's had enough, he flies off into his own fantasy world where he gets to be the boss for a change!

• SPECIAL FEATURES: All of the content below can be found on the second Blu-ray disc. These special features were originally created for the 2004 complete series DVD release.

• Audio Commentaries - by designers Iwao Takamoto, Jerry Eisenberg, Scott Awley and Scott Jeralds on the episodes "Stop Which Pigeon?" (Episode 11) and "Balmy Swami" (Episode 15). These episodes are presented in SD, pulled from the 2004 DVD, which offers viewers a chance to see just how good the new HD transfers look by comparison.
• Dastardly and Muttley's Spin-Offs: What Wacky Racers Wrought (4:47) - Jerry Eisenberg and Iwao Takamoto are interviewed regarding the design process.
• The Vulture Squadron's Greatest Misses (7:37) - Slapstick antics featuring Dastardly and Muttley are set to music. It's clips from the episodes; nothing more and nothing less.

• RATING: Not Rated.

• NOTES: This two-disc set includes all 17 22-minute episodes. It's fantastic and is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We already have Wacky Races on Blu-ray (reviewed here), so now all we need is The Perils of Penelope Pitstop (1969-1970) to have the complete Wacky Races collection on Blu-ray. I hope Warner Archive is listening.

• SYNOPSIS: In a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.

• RATING: Not Rated, but would be R-equivalent due to language, violence, and nudity.

• NOTES: Includes all eight episodes of the Amazon Prime series on three discs. Episodes run about 43 to 57 minutes each. An episode list, with a synopsis for each episode, is printed on the back cover. Unlike the 1997 film (reviewed on 4K UHD here and Blu-ray Steelbook here, the series embraces a darker and more angsty "CW" soap opera take, spinning everything downhill until a wild cliffhanger that will never be resolved thanks to the show's cancellation. It's okay, and certainly better than the third of the four main series films, but id an easy SKIP.
