Spook Central Now A Registered Trademark

For over 30 years now, I have cultivated the Spook Central™ name in various online endeavors; this website, my online store, and as my username/handle/persona on various websites and gaming platforms. Yet, despite making it a significant brand name for myself, I never legally owned it... until now.

As of September 8, 2026, my trademark for Spook Central™ has been officially registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The trademark applies to the usage of the Spook Central™ name for an online website, defined as "downloadable educational media, namely, audio files, video recordings, and multimedia files featuring information about movies, television shows, and other pop culture." The first use of the name was registered as August 1, 1996, as that was the month and year that this very website was launched on Geocities (remember that?).

[UPDATE 9/15/2026 - Due to an error at USPTO, all trademarks that were published on Sept. 8, 2026 were done so with incorrect registration numbers. They were all re-published properly a week later. The certificate screenshot above has been updated to the correct version.]

I feel a bit of pride now that I "own" the name Spook Central™. It helps add some "official validation" to Spook Central's 30th anniversary, especially when coupled with the release of the Spook Central™ 30th Anniversary Commemorative Coin last month. Thank you to everyone who has visited Spook Central™ over the past three decades. Now there can no confusion as to what THE REAL Spook Central™ is :-)
