Well, this was a pleasant surprise.. I woke up today to find an e-mail from Janine Melnitz sitting in my inbox. It's the first issue of the PKE Report, a new newsletter from Ghost Corps written from Janine's perspective. Read on to find out more about it...

At the time of this writing, I do not know if this is an invite-only newsletter that is only for Ghostbusters websites and fan groups, or if it is available for the general public to join. For now, I'll just assume it's only for us Ghostbusters superfans, but I will share the text and some of the links with all of you, since you'll want to know about this stuff.

I can tell you that the janine@ghostcorps.com e-mail address is valid (my reply didn't bounce back), but it appears to be an unmonitored address, as I have yet to receive any sort of response. Sending e-mails to it will NOT get you added to the newsletter mailing list, as I have confirmed with Eric Reich at Ghost Corps.

Anyway, the newsletter opens by telling us recipients that "pretty soon a lucky handful of you are gonna get something in the mail". There is a link to a Google form with which to provide my contact details, which I did. I will not provide the link, as it is not my place to do so. If/when I get this gift, I will write about it here. Maybe it'll arrive in time for Ghostbusters Day next month, or for Spook Central's 30th Anniversary in three months.

Speaking of Ghostbusters Day... the next item on the agenda is to announce Ghostbusters Day for Saturday, June 6th. "Come to the firehouse for the live music and food trucks, stay as we announce some Ghostbuster News and hand out the trophies from this year's Ghostbusters Give Back fundraiser."

Even bigger news is that "Netflix will be presenting a first look at the new Ghostbusters animated series at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 24th. Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan will now be joining Ben Hibon and Elliott Kalan in France for the presentation. The series is set to release in 2027." More information can be found in this linked Deadline article, which mentions that Dan Aykroyd has joined the show as an executive producer.

The 40th anniversary of The Real Ghostbusters is touched upon, though no specific plans are given other than the occasion will be celebrated in the fall. Around that same time (presumably September/October) "ECTOber" will be celebrated with "Fan events, brand collaborations, and more" just in time for Halloween. Finally, the Ghostbusters in Concert live orchestral tour is promoted.

That's all there is for this first issue. Nothing much overall, but a few teases of great things to come.

[UPDATE - 6/30/2026]
The "something in the mail" was a Ghostbusters: Night Shift postcard.
